2nd Old Gray Hen, 2008 NCBA National, Columbus Ohio

I decided that I would like to start breeding a top quality line of Grays and there was only one place to start, Art Lundgren. Art was kind enough to sell me 2 young males and 3 young females, quality birds. As with all of the other varieties here at the farm, it's the foundation stock that will determine the future. I am very excited about the future of the Grays here at the farm.
One of the males was just named Best Variety at the Eastern Iowa Poultry Show in Iowa City and one of the females won her class at the Hutchinson, MN. Show in November. Who would have guessed that my breeding of grays would achieve the status of 2009 NCBA overall National Champion on "Donna" a gray old hen(pictured below).
